It is indeed a great privilege for me to welcome you all to the website of St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Guwahati. Our hope is that you find our website user-friendly and a tool for effective communication on a day-to-day basis and enable us to be partners for the holistic development of all our students.
St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Guwahati, managed by the Salesian Sisters of Don Bosco, began its educational mission in 1924. It is affiliated to SEBA and in 2010 the Higher Secondary section was introduced. Though this institution had a humble beginning, over nine decades, the school has grown and developed into a grand tree producing abundant fruits by the young girls who have travelled through the portals of this institution. They continue to live as torch bearers with the values and principles that were imbibed in them throughout the course of their learning years.
Our vision of education extends beyond the classroom. We encourage our students to involve themselves in the broad variety of co-curricular activities. Our educational program, thus, aims to impart integral formation and develop a child intellectually, physically, morally and spiritually. It is our endeavour to form the students into good and honest citizens, worthy of God and our nation who are capable of reaching out to the less fortunate and who contribute to build a society based on peace and justice.
Today, when we look back we realize that we have ample reasons to thank God for all His blessings upon our institution and Mary our Mother for her maternal interventions in the lives of each one of us. We are also extremely grateful to all the Sisters, Staff, Benefactors, Parents and Friends who have made tremendous contributions to bring quality and quantity to our institution. Hard labour coupled with commitment and optimism has led the institution to greater heights. Today, our institution stands out as one of the premier and sought-after institutions for girls in North East India. We will continue to impart education for the integral formation of the young girls and prepare them for a creative and successful future.
God bless you!
